“Self-Reliance through Education and Heritage”
For the 2015-2016 school year, our goal was to introduce our students to a language and culture class, a step closer to our vision, Our language and culture class is moving forward successfully. Our students are eager to share with everyone the Apache phrases they have learned so far.
It has been an exciting and successful beginning at Mount Turnbull Elementary. The staff has collaboratively established routines that allow the school to operate efficiently. We are committed to an environment focused on learning as well as one that is safe and secure for our students and staff. With that, I invite the community members to work with us as we strive to provide our children with a safe, excelling, learning environment where they can rise to the challenges of their early years of life!
Life preparation extends beyond what we offer in the classroom. The well being of the students also has a large impact on learning and what happens in the classroom. Understanding this important reality, we have joined services with the Wellness Center of the Health and Human Services Department of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. If you would like your child to receive support from the Wellness Center, we are willing to assist in helping you begin the process.
Mount Turnbull Elementary will, throughout the year, be collaborating with community organizations to offer services and experiences for our students. Parents and community members are welcome to volunteer to offer additional positive experiences for our students.
Thank you for all that you do for your child to secure a successful future.
